Well, where do I begin? What a mad few months! I really don't know where to begin!

We have had a very busy time over the past few months, so busy that I haven't had time to keep up to date with newsletters. Here is a very brief rundown:

During February we were very blessed to have Mum & Dad come to PNG. It had been 18 months since we had seen them last, when they left for Deputation in the USA. Timothy was still a little baby when they left in August 2006. You can imagine the joy upon their arrival at our little Goroka airport! Timothy really didn't know who they were. Dad put false teeth in his mouth, and greeted Timothy and Laura with a set of false, yellowing aged crooked teeth. They didn't know what to think about him!

We spent a nice few weeks together catching up on many things. However, we had always in the back of our minds that National Conference was just around the corner. There was much to prepare for, and there was not much time for socialising, considering all the work that was needed for the Conference.

There is a full Conference report, which you can read separately, but to summarise, it was a wonderful conference, and a real blessing to all who attended.

Mum and Dad left after the Conference, and it was a very sad time at the airport as we said goodbye. Laura and Timothy were very affected. We stood at the top of the runway and watched the plane taxi out. Laura was sobbing, Timothy trying to join in and only half knowing why. Even I shed a tear or two as we watched the plane rise and disappear behind the clouds, and we were reminded again how lonely it can get doing the work of the Lord.

The month of April was a very busy one, with much office duties calling, and many repair jobs needed around the Headquarters. During this time, I was also mentally preparing for my trip to Mt. Hagen for the ministers seminar there. I had to battle through crowds and landslides to get there, but needless to say it was a wonderful time. I have written about it in more detail here.

Just this last week, we have begun the very time-intensive task of preparing the Bible School land. We called for a workday, and members from the surrounding churches came to help cut the grass, dig out stumps, cut down trees, and prepare for the fence to go up along the front. Even Timothy came to help out, and after much sweat and muscle pain, we cleared the block and have prepared it for the next phase... fencing.

During all this time, I have neglected the office work, and it is steadily piling up waiting! Sometimes it seems like there is just too much to cope with, but God continues to give His grace and strength, and we press on with the harvest!

Many, many thanks for your prayers and support which makes this all possible. We, and thousands of others around Papua New Guinea, sincerely appreciate it.

May God bless you,

- Richard & Andrea Carver, Laura & Timothy
